The Northern Lights Piano Festival – 2024 Online Edition
is open world wide to pianists of all nationalities

All applications has deadline Sunday, 31 March 2024, 8.00 p.m. CEST/GMT+2.
After this date no further applications will be accepted.

All applicants must submit a nonrefundable application fee payable together with the application, see Categories for more info.

Applications must include a completed application form, including uploads of:

  • Link to a video performance uploaded to either YouTube (preferred) or Bilibili (for applicants residing in Mainland China). A link of which should be provided directly in the application form (repertoire requirements can be found in Categories page)

    • Please make sure that the video is either public or unlisted before submitting your application, and must remain so for the entire duration of the competition.

  • Passport, national ID or birth certificate, as proof of age

  • One high-resolution colour headshot photograph (300 dpi or higher), suitable for publicity purposes

An acknowledgment will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of the completed Application Form with all enclosures and paid application fee.

By applying to the Northern Lights Piano Festival, applicants give the rights for the competition to stream their videos on our pages on Facebook, YouTube and TrueArt TV and other streaming channels.

The competition will accept no responsibility for applications not received.

All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and treated as confidential. The Northern Lights Piano Festival will never sell any information to third parties.

All results are final.

From each category (both repertoire and performance), the jury may nominate winners to be considered for the Grand Prix cash prizes. The President and Vice-President of the jury may then choose to award the following prizes:

  • Absolute Grand Prix: €1,000

  • 1st Grand Prix: €500

  • 2nd Grand Prix: €300

  • 3rd Grand Prix: €200

VIDEO RECORDING REQUIREMENTS

  • Inside one piece, it’s not allowed to do cuts in the video.

  • Player’s face and hands should be seen on the video

  • You may send as many video links as you wish for each application.

  • You may use videos recorded at any time, as long as you feel that it best represents your ability.

Applications will not be discriminated against based on the date or quality of their video recordings.

Tips for recording:

  • Try to get best audio quality possible. For instance use microphone and make sure to check recording level before making final recording.

  • Try to get best video quality possible, using a lamp and adjusting video camera to the light available.
